Weddings mark a significant moment in every couple’s life. It’s the day when you and your loved one declare your love for another – in front of friends and family – and begin a life’s journey as one.

As much as your wedding is about you and your significant other, it’s also about your guests. You want everyone who comes to your big day to gasp at the beauty of the reception. You want them to marvel at all those intricacies you thought of during the planning stages.

Making sure your wedding is one people won’t soon forget means making a lasting, first impression.

But how can you do this?

Be one in a million – Think outside the norm

Many wedding ceremonies and receptions are heavily steeped in cultural traditions. But that doesn’t mean you can’t (nor shouldn’t) incorporate your own personal flair or style.

Take, for example, the draping.

Draping can transform virtually any space into something out of a storybook. When combined with the right type of lighting, these linens will add a sense of warmth and elegance to the room, reminding your guests that they’re witnessing something magical.

Aside from choosing the right style of draping, it’s equally as important to choose a company that knows how to set up these linens to recreate any space into your wedding space.

When interviewing event companies, ask to see the work they’ve done using draping with previous weddings.

And what about the tent you choose?

Many couples throughout the Greater New Orleans Area choose to rent a tent for their wedding or reception, for a number of reasons:

  • Just in case it rains

  • As shade from the sun

  • To keep guests warm

  • To mark off a designated area (such as a dance floor space, bar, etc.)

Take your time when choosing your tent. We strongly recommend you choose a tent with a solid white coloring, as these types of tents tend to blend well with any outdoor setting.

When choosing whom to rent from, it’s a good idea to see how each company’s tents look in an actual setting. Ask for photographs of each tent style, so you can determine whether that tent matches your vision, and whether the company does a good job setting up the tent in a professional manner.

Pro tip: Find a weddings/event rental company that can drape and line your rented tents. For example, having the ability to drape tent legs helps reinforce the magical appearance of a wedding, and minimizes the distraction that your tent will have.

The little things that make people say WOW

If you really want your wedding to make a lasting impression, then you can’t go wrong with an arbor and white aisle runner.

Not only will the arbor help you designate the space where you’ll say I do, but it also helps create idyllic photographs that you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

For that extra little touch, be sure to dress your arbor with linens that match the tone of your wedding.

White aisle runners are not only aesthetically pleasing, but they also accentuate the aisle, which is the symbol of the journey from two souls into one.

For an added touch, scatter flower petals along each side of the runner.

If you want to make a lasting impression, keep it simple and true

Even if you had every intention of hosting a simple wedding, these events tend to take on a life of their own. While it’s important to add your own personal touches to your big day, it’s equally important to not overwhelm your guests – or yourself – with too much stuff.

Even the smallest of touches could be enough to get you closer to the wedding of your dreams.

Remember, in the end, this is your wedding. Create a day that symbolizes all that you and your loved one hold dear to your hearts. Do this, and you simply can’t go wrong.
